In November 2013, PORSH was officially registered as a non-profit organization with registration number CG076652013 to get legal backings to undertake interventions in the fields of HIV, gender, sexual and reproductive health events, human rights and other interventions for key populations in Ghana and beyond.

PORSH has a nationwide network of key population members and strong affiliations with other key members of the general population. In Ghana, we have credible contacts in every constituency and district and we keep their information very confidential. Thus, they are always willing to assist in any projects and programs specifically designed for key populations.

PORSH has strong ties with local stakeholders and also has a good rapport with international organizations. PORSH was the first Organization in Africa to adapt and implement 3MV (many men, many voices) in Ghana. This is a seven-session, group-level HIV and STD prevention intervention for black MSM in America.

PORSH reaches to peers in all regions on issues of HIV/STI and human rights abuses and blackmail cases. Our special emphasis on Key populations (MSM) is rooted in the fact that HIV prevalence is very high coupled with high levels of stigma, violence, and discrimination.

PORSH has strategic ways of pulling resources and putting together formidable team members to undertake projects and researches. We also have an all-inclusive approach of project staff and we deliver on our promises. We strive only for excellence even with glaring limitations and constraints.

PORSH belongs to several professional bodies and associations amongst which include Ghana HIV AIDS Network, Alliance for Equality and Diversity (AfED-Ghana), Totally Youth (Ghana) and the Coalition for Justice and Respect (CJR-CHICAGO, USA), Pan-African Human Rights Defenders Network, ILGA Africa/World, and Adolescent HIV Prevention and Treatment Implementation Science Alliance (AHISA), Bethesda-USA.

Our existence revolves around credibility, accountability and reliability that aligns with our broader mission and vision statements. PORSH is committed to the pursuit of excellence in research, treatment, training and prevention of HIV and related infections in Ghana and beyond.

We have an urgent purpose to lessen the impact of the HIV epidemic in key populations, families and communities, through innovation and our passion for humanity. We also pay particular attention to areas in LGBTQI/human rights, equality. inclusion, diversity and empowerment.

Fully self- funded by small grants and other periodic investigator raised funds, our shared vision for the future includes the continuation of current HIV related work of treatment, care, prevention and education particularly with Key populations, and contributing to the full application of human rights that eliminates stigma and discrimination against key populations and promotes rights of sexual minorities.

More so, we hope to stay abreast of new developments and best practices in the fields of Human rights and HIV/AIDS.

We’re always just a phone call away.
